The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Soldiers Table

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline including celestial beings, fiends, and dark forces increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.

Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.

The Warrior Group Introduced

Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of heroes who will split off from the main group to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.

This warrior group includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

The Reason for Division

Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.

That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.

The Nature of the Warrior Group

As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.

Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the combat party.

Reasons to Leave

For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.

Casimir then cleared his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.

Character Drivers

Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires revenge.
  • Kattigan has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a nasty location.
  • The strong character and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
  • But, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could enable the group reach areas they normally couldn’t.
  • Additionally, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.

Wanted and Hunted

Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
  • Tyranny and Wicander defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • Teor is marked for death by the clan.

This means them little choice but to head to the northern region in quest for Casimir.

Upcoming Developments

From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Seekers and Schemers groups.

Audiences can look forward to discovering which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
